Just when I thought I didn't really want to listen to heavy 8-beat music before the hot summer, a refreshing Bossa Nova song arrived. The latest album, recorded in New York with producer Eumir Deodato, known for the soundtrack of the movie ``2001: A Space Odyssey,'' is a selection of songs centered on famous pop songs from the 60s to 80s, starting with ``A MAN AND WOMAN,'' a song well-known by Francis Lay, which was Ono's first time singing in French. The sound is a simple bossa nova, but with a cool urban rhythm section and elegant arrangements, it has a cool adult groove. Ono's vocals make use of the melodies of each song and the beauty of the sound of the words, making them as comfortable as a breeze blowing through them. This sound creation and vocals seem to have a subtle respect for famous songs. The slightly wet atmosphere of Frank Sinatra's "ALL THE WAY" and Tony Bennett's classic "I LEFT MY HEART IN SAN FRANCISCO" are also nice.
